In latest news from Uttarakhand, six persons, including five returning home after having darshan of Adi Kailash, met with an accident on the Dharchula-Lipulekh national highway as the car they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged 500 metres down a gorge near a temple about 23 km away from the Dharchula Tehsil headquarters. On being informed, police rescue team from Pangla accompanied by a State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team rushed to the site, but none of the six passengers was found yet. The locals alleged that due to the non-availability of telephonic communication facility in these high-altitude areas, the information of the accident reached the administration late.
