Six test positive for dengue, one for Covid-19 in Dehradun

Dehradun district reported six new cases of dengue and one case of Covid-19 on Saturday. The Dehradun Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, stated that among the six dengue cases reported on Saturday, five were reported at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and one at Max Hospital. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 306, with 146 cases originating from Dehradun and 160 from other districts or States.
Currently, there are 23 active dengue patients receiving treatment: 14 at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, three at Himalayan Hospital, one at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital, two at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, two at Graphic Era and one at Max Hospital.
Additionally, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and health department volunteers conducted 10,816 household surveys on Saturday to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, 164 homes were found to have larvae. ASHA workers and volunteers also examined 70,468 containers on the same day and discovered that 181 of them contained larvae.
The CMO further informed that one case of Covid-19 was reported on Saturday, raising the cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the district to 122, which includes 101 local residents and 21 migrants. Currently, there is one active Covid-19 case in Dehradun district. On Saturday, seven samples were tested for Covid-19, contributing to a cumulative total of 1,405 samples tested. Sharma also said that no deaths from Covid-19 have been reported in Dehradun district so far.
