S M J N (PG) College in Haridwar celebrated its annual day on Monday with an event that showcased the talents of its students. The ceremony began with Saraswati Vandana and Ganesh Vandana. The welcoming address by the college principal Sunil Kumar Batra was followed by a series of cultural performances. The students presented music, dance, drama and recitation of poems. The themes ranged from G20 and Fit India to patriotism and social issues.
The annual day celebration also included distribution of awards, medals and certificates to the meritorious students and the toppers of the college who had excelled in academics, sports and cultural activities.
The chairperson Naresh Bansal said that all the programmes presented on the occasion were the glimpses of changing India and were inspirational for the society at large. He also said that the new education policy (NEP) would help the students serve the society better.
In his address, the chief guest Mahaveer Singh Rawat, the officiating vice chancellor of Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University, urged the students to continue striving for excellence in every realm of life.
