The Sports minister Rekha Arya said that to promote the upcoming 38th National Games on a global scale, the State will involve social media influencers. She said this during a meeting held on Saturday with some of the State’s social media influencers.
Arya emphasised that, in addition to providing formal coverage of the games, social media influencers should create content through their blogs, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram accounts. She encouraged them to showcase not only the sports events during the National Games, but also the tourist attractions, religious sites, cultural customs and local cuisine of Uttarakhand. This approach aims to highlight the diverse features of Devbhoomi and share them with the world. Arya stated that this initiative would not only enhance the popularity of the National Games but also boost tourism in the State in the long run.
Further, she said that the upcoming National Games should be made a public event, encouraging every citizen of the state to act as ambassador for Uttarakhand. Arya also expressed her intention to support the social media influencers by asking how the Sports department could assist them in their efforts. She assured them that the government would provide all necessary information. The influencers present at the meeting also shared their suggestions on how to make the National Games more popular.
