Monday, 08 JULY 2024 | PNS | HALDWANI
In latest news from Uttarakhand, with heavy rains lashing Haldwani for the last 48 hours, causing a rise in the water level of Gaula river, soil erosion is now expanding towards the cricket stadium. Upon receiving this information, the city magistrate A P Bajpai, assistant sports director Rashika Siddiqui and tehsildar Sachin Kumar inspected the spot along with officials.
Bajpai who inspected the western end of the international stadium on the banks of Gaula river and the soil erosion caused by the rising level of the river, said that the senior sports department officials have been informed and once the current spell of rain subsides, flood protection work would be done.
