SP meets sector police officers for hassle-free poll

In latest news from Uttarakhand, with the Election Commission set to unveil the poll schedule, Uttarkashi police are busy making fool-proof arrangements to ensure free, fair and peaceful election in the district. As part of the preparations, the superintendent of police Arpan Yaduvanshi briefed the sector police officers at Police Line Gyansu about the guidelines to be followed. He particularly asked them to keep special vigil on sensitive and ultra-sensitive polling booths and areas. Besides, he instructed them to strictly follow the Election Commission guidelines in letter and spirit, ensuring security of the parties in the fray and the voters during the electioneering. He stressed on the social media posts be monitored and actions taken against those found circulating rumours to stoke tension and violence.
With the election drawing near, police have been organising training sessions and mock drills to ensure that emergencies are dealt with appropriately on the polling day.
The district deputy superintendent of police Prashant Kumar and the election cell in-charge Manoj Aswal along with senior police and forest officials were present at the briefing.
