Vidhan Sabha speaker Ritu Bhushan Khanduri has requested the State government to hold the upcoming budget session of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha in Dehradun.
Interacting with the media in Dehradun on Friday, Khanduri said that the process of digitalisation of the Vidhan Sabha building in Dehradun is complete and it is now e-Vidhan Sabha or National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) . The budget session this year will be a paperless session. The speaker said that the process of digitisation (NeVA) of the Assembly building in Gairsain, the summer capital of the State, is underway and the work is likely to take about three to four months. Khanduri informed that she has made a special request to the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami regarding organising the upcoming budget session in Dehradun.
She said that the paperless budget session of the Vidhan Sabha will be an important step in the direction of environmental conservation and it will make the proceedings more effective. Khanduri added that NeVA will ensure easy accessibility to the data and records by the legislators which will make the proceedings of Vidhan Sabha efficient.
After the statement of the Speaker it is likely that the session will be convened in the second or third week of February in Dehradun.
Meanwhile the State government has started preparations for the budget session. On Friday the department of Finance organised a ‘ pre budget dialogue’ with different stakeholders in Dehradun. The programme was attended by finance minister Premchand Agarwal. He said that the suggestions of the people will be included in the budget 2025-26.
The general public can provide its suggestions on phone number 9520820683 or e mail at [email protected] till February 9, 2025.
