Speaker Khanduri leads youths in jungle safari in CTR

The State Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan embarked on a special jungle safari with the local youths in Pakharo Range of Kotdwar that falls under the iconic Jim Corbett National Park on Wednesday. The object behind this safari was stated to increase awareness about the biodiversity and environmental heritage of the area. Besides, it was aimed at boosting tourism and employment generation opportunities in Kotdwar.
She said that about 75 per cent of Jim Corbett National Park is located in Pauri Garhwal which houses habitats for rare wildlife and bird species. “Kotdwar is just four hours away from Delhi-NCR, making it a convenient and attractive tourist destination for tourists,” she said.
During the safari, she informed the youths accompanying her about tiger, leopard, elephant, bear and other wildlife species the forest in Pauri is home to. “It is essential to help the children feel a bonding with nature,” she said.
With excitement and curiosity written on their faces, the youngsters said that what they had experienced during this tour would remain etched in their minds. Further, they pledged to spread awareness about the jungle safari, promoting tourism and job generation opportunities for Kotdwar.
