Following the directives of Sports minister Rekha Arya, the Sports department will organise a special feast to honour the 103 players of Uttarakhand who won medals in the 38th National Games. Arya said that the National Games were held in a decentralised manner across 12 locations and no sports village was formally established. Due to this, the champions in various events could not meet each other.
Arya said that considering this, a special feast would soon be hosted by the Sports department in recognition of all the medal winners, during which the athletes will also be honoured. She emphasised that there will be no delays in implementing the government’s announcements for the medalists.
Additionally, the Sports minister said that the procedures for awarding cash prizes to the players and providing out-of-turn government jobs to gold medal winners should be completed as quickly as possible. She has instructed the officials to expedite the disbursement of cash rewards and fulfill other government announcements for the medal winners promptly.
