Special principal secretary reviews activities of Information Dept

The special principal secretary of chief minister and Information, Abhinav Kumar reviewed the activities of the Information department at the state secretariat on Monday.  He said that a proposal for restructure of the department should be prepared so that the department is able to discharge its duties in a better manner in view of the changing information technology.

Kumar directed the officers to prepare an effective working plan to ensure that the activities and schemes of the government reach remote areas promptly and effectively. He also stressed on the need to develop an effective monitoring mechanism based on the reaction of people on the social welfare schemes of the government. Kumar said that the meetings of the ‘ Patrakar Kalyan Kosh’ should be held regularly and the Uttarakhand Film Policy should be further improved. He opined that more and more film producers would visit the state on having a favourable film policy which would help in giving a better recognition to the state.

The meeting was attended by additional secretary and Director General (DG) of Information Ranvir Singh Chauhan, joint secretary S S Tolia, additional director Anil Chandola, joint directors Ashish Tripathi,  KS Chauhan, deputy directors Manoj Srivastava, DD Ravi Bijarnia and others.
