SPIC MACAY State convention to be held in Doon

The Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) will organise the three-day SPIC MACAY State convention from September 1 to 3 at Unison World School (UWS) in Dehradun. Addressing the media here on Monday, State chairperson of SPIC MACAY Vidya Vasan said, “The convention is set to host an array of renowned artists, promising an enriching experience for all attendees. Performances by local artists like Madhuri Bartwal will also be part of the event. The objective of organising the SPIC MACAY convention is to raise awareness among the younger generation about Indian art and culture.”
She further informed that several other schools in and around Dehradun will be participating in the event.
Further, UWS principal Mona Khanna said that she feels honoured to host the SPIC MACAY State convention at the school. She said that she believes in nurturing holistic education and this convention aligns perfectly with the school’s philosophy of fostering cultural understanding and appreciation among students.
“In the three-day long workshop out students will also have the unique opportunity to witness a diverse range of classical performances. Apart from this, more than 100 students from the mountainous region of the State will be part of the convention,” said Khanna.
