The three-day SPIC MACAY state convention concluded at Unison World School in the presence of the State culture minister Satpal Maharaj. While a hatha yoga workshop was held on the final day it also saw musical performances by Vishal Mishra (sitar), Partho Roy Choudhury (santoor) and Pt Rakesh Chaurasia (flute) and also Kuchipudi dance performance by Guru V Jayarama Rao and his group. In his address, Maharaj said that the musical and cultural events organised on three days of the convention have exemplified India’s cultural heritage. The principal of Unison World School Mona Khanna said that the three-day programme on art and culture had seen Assamese dance, Tibetan music, Garhwali folk and Hindustani violin among others. Students of various schools and universities from across Uttarakhand attended the cultural programme.
