Sports minister lays foundation stone of multipurpose sports building in Rudrapur

The Sports minister Rekha Arya laid the foundation stone of a multipurpose sports building in Rudrapur on Tuesday which is proposed to be constructed with a budget of Rs 30 crore in view of 38th National Games scheduled to be organised in Uttarakhand in 2025. Arya said that the State will host the 38th National Games in three years and the department has started taking steps to provide a great experience to each sportsperson participating in it from across the country.
Also, the department is working in providing all the possible facilities to players to prepare them for the National Games. She said that the government has been consistently taking initiatives to provide quality sports training to students apart from quality education. She said that the State government is running several schemes for sportspersons like scholarship schemes for players between the ages of eight and 14 years and Mukhyamantri Khiladi Udyaman Unnayan Yojna.
These efforts will certainly hone the talent of budding sportspersons of the State and help them in achieving success in their respective fields, added Arya. She also felicitated some players who have done immensely well in sports in the district.
