In latest news from Uttarakhand, with the State Congress still nursing its wounds following the resignation of Manish Khanduri, another senior leader and State party secretary Gopal Singh Rawat quit the Congress, lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his transformational policies. He, in particular, mentioned the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the scraping of the Article 370 of the Constitution that stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its special status. Rawat was once among the close confidants of the Congress veteran Harish Rawat. He is now all set to walk into the saffron fold with his supporters.
