SRHU hosts innovation festival with 100 startups’ engagement

Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) hosted the two-day Uttarakhand Innovation Festival 2024 to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth of Uttarakhand. The event witnessed active participation from institutions across the State.
The founders of the Hans Foundation, Mata Mangla and Bhole Maharaj along with the president of SRHU, Vijay Dhasmana inaugurated the festival. Speaking at the event, Mata Mangla emphasised the role of the youth in realising the vision of a self-reliant India, encouraging the use of technology for innovation. In a video message, the Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the young minds are the catalysts for change.
In his address, Dhasmana urged the youth to shift their focus from seeking jobs to creating employment opportunities. He highlighted SRHU’s commitment to skill development through innovation. The event featured over 100 startups, student business ideas, advanced technologies and women’s self-help groups.
Addressing the closing session, the Forest and Technical Education minister Subodh Uniyal lauded the festival for enriching the knowledge and skills of young innovators, expressing confidence that such initiatives would make Uttarakhand a hub of innovation. The Skill Development minister Saurabh Bahuguna exhorted the participants to overcome the fear of failure and continue advancing in their fields.
