The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh on Friday formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the Raipur shootout case for effective collection of concrete evidence against all accused along with a detailed investigation of all aspects of the incident.
The SIT has six police personnel including the circle officer of Doiwala Abhinay Chaudhary who will lead the team. The SSP said that having concrete evidence against all the seven arrested accused will make their case stronger in the court which is necessary to ensure the culprits get punishment for committing such a heinous crime. He also directed the SIT to investigate all the property acquired by the accused illegally. He instructed them to coordinate with the departments concerned on the complaint of illegal occupation or construction on government land by the accused and take necessary action to ensure its demolition.
Meanwhile, the SSP also informed that the police got a one-day police custody remand of one of the main accused in the case Ramveer Singh for Saturday. The police will interrogate him and will take further action to collect or recover evidence related to the case. The police will leave no stone unturned in making their case stronger in the court with evidence, he added.
