SSP inspects busy roads to improve traffic management

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE /Dehradun

The senior superintendent of police, Dehradun, Pramendra Dobal inspected the busiest roads and intersections points across the city on Thursday to improve road traffic and safety. He visited areas like Rispana Chowk, ISBT Dehradun and Kargi Chowk. During his visit, he instructed officers and personnel to improve traffic management.

At Rispana Chowk, Dobal said that the road divider near the auto stand on the Rispana bridge has been causing traffic pressure. He instructed the officials concerned to coordinate with the concerned department and shift the divider backward so that the road becomes wider and traffic can move smoothly.

“At ISBT, the vehicles should be parked only in the designated parking areas and those parked in no parking zones should be towed away,” he said and added that police should also take action against buses and other vehicles which stop on the road to pick up or drop passengers.

Dobal also asked officials to shift seized vehicles parked outside the ISBT police outpost to another place so that traffic movement is not affected.

During the visit, he interacted with people who came to the outpost with complaints and directed officers to take quick action on public problems.

At Kargi Chowk, he instructed officials to shift the police booth slightly backward and see to it that vehicles are not parked on the road.
