The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh reached Mussoorie on Sunday to take stock of the traffic and security arrangements as several programmes were planned for the New Year’s celebration there. He checked the police barriers and checkpoints installed on the Dehradun-Mussoorie road.
He also interacted with hotel owners and event organisers where the maximum number of people were expected to gather for New Year celebrations on Sunday and Monday nights. He asked them to ensure upgraded safety arrangements as per the rules while ensuring proper parking for the guests arriving at their respective premises for celebrations. He also asked them to approach the police if they notice anybody who may disturb law and order in the area to ensure people’s safety.
Besides this, the SSP also directed the police personnel deployed in Mussoorie to ensure all traffic rules are being followed by all. He said that traffic management was quite successful on Sunday considering the number of tourists arriving in the district, especially in tourist spots. He asked officials to ensure traffic is maintained similarly on Monday as many people arrive for New Year celebrations on January 1 too.
