The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh suspended one police constable on Tuesday for indiscipline during Lok Sabha election duty. The constable Amit Tomar was deployed with the Flying Squad Team (FST) which carries out drone surveillance to monitor illegal activities and other works banned after the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct.
He was appointed in the Mussoorie region but was found allegedly drunk during duty hours. He also misbehaved with other police personnel and raised ruckus, as per the officials. Considering this, the SSP suspended him with immediate effect. Singh said that the police are taking all measures to ensure peaceful and safe Lok Sabha elections. He added that strict action will be taken against any personnel found to be neglecting duties.
