SSP tells event organisers to make their own parking and security arrangements

Considering the parking issue during various events in Dehradun, the senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh stated on  Sunday that the respective event organisers will have to make parking and security arrangements on their own while ensuring the commuters do not have to face inconvenience. He said that various events like the annual day programme in the schools and colleges besides processions and cultural events in various locations take place in Dehradun. Improper arrangements regarding security and parking often lead to traffic on the road and affect a large number of people who are not even part of the event. It is usually the common man who suffers during such programmes considering which the SSP has asked all police stations in charge to ensure that the respective organiser of an event makes suitable parking and security arrangements. Singh also clarified that the police will provide their cooperation to the organisers during such programmes but they will have to make their own arrangements as per the event. He asked the officials to not grant permission to such organisers who do not fulfill these criteria.
