SSP warns of action against officials failing to ensure timely closing of bars in Doon

The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Daleep Singh Kunwar warned of action against those police station in-charges who fail to ensure the closing of all pubs and bars on time in their respective areas. He said this in a workshop conducted late Thursday night with all police stations in-charges. He said that officials concerned should conduct regular checking of spa centres, hookah bars, pubs and bars to ensure they work as per the guidelines.

He also discussed security plans in the district regarding the celebration of Mahashivratri on Saturday. He asked all officials to deploy the police force in plain clothes to keep a vigilant eye on anti-social elements in the fairs held in their respective areas on the occasion of the festival. Considering some offenders committed crimes in the past in disguise as beggars, the SSP said that beggars should not be allowed in crowded areas like fairs and temple premises on Saturday. He also insisted on mandatory verification of all traders arriving from other districts and states to do business in fairs and nearby temples. He directed them to ensure proper security arrangements where there is a possibility of gathering a large number of devotees.
