SSP warns those spreading misinformation about Raipur shootout case

Thursday, 20 June 2024 | PNS | DEHRADUN

Stating that people have been spreading false narratives for personal and political gains in the Raipur shootout case, the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh warned of taking strict action against offenders.

He said that some people claimed that the injured victims were not getting proper treatment in the hospital because the police wanted to get rid of any evidence. Some also stated that the police have been restricting the shifting of the victims to other hospitals for better treatment. Some people involved in politics also claimed that the police have registered only the attempted murder case against the accused without having any basic knowledge of the law.  “All these claims are ridiculous and are only meant to instigate the public who are currently emotional due to this heinous crime. We understand people’s emotions but spreading such rumours can disturb law and order in the area. The doctors have clearly stated that both injured are getting proper treatment but they are not in the condition to be shifted anywhere.

Besides this, we registered the murder case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code along with other relevant acts soon after we received the body of Deepak Badola,” he said. The SSP also said that he received information about some people allegedly accusing and abusing people of other states living here for crimes committed here. “This will not be tolerated. I appeal to the people to refrain from spreading any such rumours regarding the case that can disturb law and order in the city. The police will take legal action against such offenders,” he said.
