In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Naib Rawal of the revered Badrinath Dham Amarnath Namboodiri is all set to be anointed as the Rawal of the shrine on July 14 in keeping with the traditions laid down by the Adi Shankaracharya. Amartnath Namboodiri will become the 21st Rawal in accordance with this tradition.
Informing about the anointment, the president of the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee Ajemdra Ajay said that all ceremonies and rituals preceding the anointment are being conducted now.
Notably, the last Rawal Ishwar Prasad Namboodri sought voluntary retirement from his work, citing health grounds and family matters. He was relieved as per his wish, said Ajay.
