Star-steered campaign  now in full swing

In latest news from Uttarakhand, with the countdown of the April 19 election having started, both BJP and Congress are now resorting to star-steered campaign. While the Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed two mega rallies in Uttarakhand the Union Home Minister Amit Shah is coming to address his maiden poll rally in Kotdwar on April 16 for the party candidate Anil Baluni from Garhwal seat. The Congress star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi is in Uttarakhand. After addressing a rally in Ramnagar, she is to address her second rally in Roorkee.   

According to the BJP sources, Shah is slated to conduct a road show in Kotdwar and it will be followed by a public meeting.  

The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed three poll rallies in Gauchar, Lohaghat and Haldwani while the UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath is slated to address a public meeting in Haldwani in support of the BJP candidate Ajay Bhatt in the fray for Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar constituency. He will also address three rallies in Srinagar, Roorkee and Dehradun.

Besides, the Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini will campaign in  Laksar, Khanpur and Piran KalIyar in Haridwar  district and the BJP  MP from Bengal Santanu Thakur is slated to address poll meetings in Bengali-dominated areas like Dineshpur, Rudrapur and Shaktifarm in Udham Singh Nagar district.
