Start reconstruction works in Badrinath: Secretary Pandey to officers

The Public Works Department (PWD) Pankaj Kumar Pandey visited Badrinath on Wednesday to conduct inspection of the reconstruction works of Badrinath shrine and ongoing works on the Badrinath national highway (NH). He said that lakhs of pilgrims visit Badrinath shrine every year and it is our priority to make their Yatra comfortable and safe.
Pandey directed the work execution agencies to start the reconstruction works soon. In the visit he took information about the works at Shesh Netra, Badrish Lake, arrival plaza, bus terminal and riverfront development works. The district magistrate (DM) Himanshu Khurana gave a detailed presentation about the progress of the Badrinath master plan to Pandey.
Pandey also inspected ongoing works on the Badrinath national highway and expressed annoyance at the slow pace of work between Chamoli to Helang. He directed the work execution agency to complete the road broadening, safety wall construction and rubble disposal work from the roads before the start of the Char Dham Yatra.
The Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Chandrashekhar Vashistha, Deputy General Manager (DGM) NHIDCL Shailendra Kumar, chief engineer PWD Rajesh Sharma and others were present during the visit of the secretary.
