Ending the speculations, the Uttarakhand government has decided to give Deepawali bonus to its 1.70 lakh employees. The largesse of the government will put a financial burden of about Rs 125 crore on the State exchequer.
The decision will benefit employees of the State government, local bodies and corporations. As per the order released on Friday the non gazetted employees’ up-to the grade pay of Rs 4,800 (pay band level 8) would be eligible for the bonus. The bonus would be interim not linked to the productivity and would be of 30 days not exceeding Rs 7,000. The casual/ daily wage earners working in different departments for a period of minimum three years would also get a bonus of Rs 1,184 on Deepawali.
