State govt set to take direct charge of Himalayan Cultural Centre

In latest Uttarakhand news, the State government is all set to take charge of the Himalaya Cultural Centre formed to preserve, showcase and promote the culture heritage of the Himalayan State. This centre will also help the future generation of the State to get acquainted with the State’s peerless cultural/spiritual legacy. Notably, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of this project built in Garhi Cantt in Dehradun which was constructed at the cost of Rs 67.3 crore.
According to the State cultural department officers, apart from preserving the rich folk art of the State, this centre will take it to the people at large and help the next generation to get acquainted and feel proud of the rich culture their State is repository of.
Initially, National Building Construction Corporation was entrusted with the responsibility of taking care of the centre. The building that houses this centre was built in 2021. This has in its premises a large auditorium equipped with all modern facilities, museum, open theatre and art gallery among others.
