In latest news from Dehradun, the mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ has announced that a proposal would be placed at the Dehradun Municipal Corporation for exempting the identified Statehood movement activists from paying house taxes. He further said that either Nesvila Road or the road leading to the Martyrs Memorial would be named after the eminent Statehood movement leader Sushila Baluni. He further declared that a statue of Baluni would be installed in the city. The mayor made these announcements while addressing a programme organised by the Uttarakhand Rajya Andolankari Manch to mark the 84th birth anniversary of Sushila Baluni. During the programme, five women of the State working in different fields were felicitated with ‘Matri Shakti Samman’ award.
