STF and police nab wanted criminal from Punjab in joint operation

The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) and Udham Singh Nagar police nabbed a wanted criminal Karanveer Sandhu in a joint operation on Monday from Punjab for an alleged attempt to murder a local resident of Udham Singh Nagar district. The senior superintendent of police (SSP) of STF, Ayush Agrawal informed that a complaint was filed on July 1 in Gadarpur police station of the district against accused Karanveer Sandhu, a local of Lakhimpur Khiri, Uttar Pradesh, for an attempt to murder with his accomplice Jugraj Singh alias Jagga. They had attempted to murder local resident Balbir Singh by firing at him. He said that the accused was absconded since then and the Udham Singh Nagar SSP had also announced a bounty of Rs 25,000 for his arrest. Agrawal said that on the basis of the evidence received during the investigation, the joint team of police and STF finally arrested Sandhu from a factory in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab on Monday at about 7 PM after over four months. The SSP said that the accused has been brought to Udham Singh Nagar from Punjab and will be presented in the court soon.
