In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Special Task Force (STF) has achieved a major success in cracking a cybercrime network with the arrest of its mastermind from Delhi. The senior superintendent of police STF Ayush Agrawal said that the accused used the social media sites for advertising for online trading, luring people to invest in shares and get three times more returns. As the people sent money for share trading, the accused would withdraw from ATMs. Police took cognisance of a complaint filed by a Nainital resident on June 18 and started investigation.
The prime accused was arrested from Swaroop Nagar, Delhi, informed Agrawal, adding that a number of online complaints had been filed against the accused in several states.
