STF arrests criminal from Bihar with Rs 2 L bounty

In latest news from Uttarakhand, a joint team of Special Task Force (STF) Uttarakhand and Laxmanjhula police personnel arrested a notorious criminal- native of Bihar with Rs two lakh bounty on his head- from Laxmanjhula area. Police said that as many as 27 cases, including 11 murder cases, had been filed against the man identified as Ranjit Chaudhary in Bihar and Jharkhand. Bihar police had been looking for him for the past two years. He was arrested from a hotel in Laxmanjhula where he had been putting up with his wife and children.
Acting on a tip-off from Bihar STF, the joint team reached the hotel late into night.
Police further said that Chaudhary had committed the first murder to avenge the killing of his father and brother and then he became a contract killer. He allegedly annihilated many rivals when he was engaged in mining activities. Besides, a number of abduction cases had been filed against him in Jharkhand.
