STF arrests two interstate drug traffickers with heroin worth Rs 80 lakh

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Uttarakhand Special Task Force arrested two interstate drug traffickers from Kichha, Udham Singh Nagar district and recovered 262 grammes of heroin worth about Rs 80 lakh in a joint operation with local police late on Thursday.
The senior superintendent of police of STF, Navneet Singh Bhullar said that a team led by STF Circle Officer RB Chamola and inspector Pawan Swaroop, in coordination with local police, apprehended the accused near Shiv Mandir in Azad Nagar, Kichha. He informed that the arrested individuals have been identified as Chaman Babu (30) and Mohammad Shadab Ansari (23), both residents of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The SSP stated that during interrogation, the arrested individuals revealed that they had procured the heroin from a supplier named Shahbuddin, a resident of Ryanwada, Bareilly.
The STF has gathered further information about other drug traffickers linked to this network and additional action will be taken accordingly. The criminal background of the accused is also being investigated, he said.
