Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to take strict action against the person responsible for circulating a fake letter which was being presented as a letter from the Union Home minister Amit Shah to the Uttarakhand CM. Additional chief secretary Radha Raturi said that the said letter which refers to providing Z-security to some persons is fake. No such letter has been sent by Shah to Dhami, she stressed. Fact check by the Press Information Bureau has also ascertained that this letter is fake.
The Social Media Intervention Cell (SMIC) of the State’s Special Task Force (STF) received a post on Wednesday. The post was regarding a letter on the Home minister’s letter pad. Prima facie it appears as if the minister’s letter pad was tampered with to spread false information to affect the law and order situation. The STF Uttarakhand has registered a case and initiated action in the case.
