STF nabs absconding student accused of firing in broad daylight

The Special Task Force (STF) arrested an absconding student on Monday from Roorkee who was wanted for firing on students in broad daylight outside a college in Bhagwanpur area of Roorkee last month. The senior superintendent of police (SSP) of STF, Ayush Agrawal said that the authorities were looking for the accused named Anshul Yadav, a resident of Haridwar, since the incident of firing outside the college on November 21. He informed that a case was registered against him under Section 147, 148, 149, 307, 336 and 352 in Haridwar and the Haridwar SSP had also announced a reward of Rs 5,000 on his arrest. He said that the accused Anshul Kumar was successful in avoiding his arrest for over three weeks but the STF team finally arrested him from Roorkee on Monday.
It is pertinent to mention here that a fight broke out between two groups of students outside a college in Bhagwanpur area of Roorkee in which some students of both groups fired at each other with illegal weapons, as per the officials. The police had arrested some students immediately from the spot while some students escaped. The arrested accused Anshul Kumar was one of the absconding students and the main culprit who was finally nabbed on Monday by STF.
