Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) along with cyber police nabbed a member of an international gang near the Pakistan border during the wee hours on Monday. The STF team arrested Rohit Kumar, owner of the Galaxy Company from Faridkot in Punjab who has also carried out fraud of Rs 15 lakh on a Dehradun resident. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of STF, Ajai Singh informed that as per the information gathered so far, the gang uses a website to lure people with the promise of giving huge profits in the sale and purchase of products like gold, spices, liquor and many other products. He informed that the website has been developed in Hong Kong and the fraud operations are linked to criminals from Hong Kong and Cambodia. He said that the accused Rohit Kumar is the owner of a company and the force has recovered dozens of debit cards, mobile phones and documents on his arrest. He said that the accused is also suspected to be involved in the financial cyber fraud internationally through the fake website and the authorities are looking for his connections to other countries too. The police have brought the accused to Dehradun and he is currently under investigation, added Singh.
