The anti-narcotics task force (ANTF) of Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) arrested three interstate drug smugglers from Udham Singh Nagar’s Rudrapur with 521 grammes of smack worth Rs 55 lakh late on Monday. All three accused belong to Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district and have been identified as Alam Ahmad (22), Zeeshan Ali (24) and Gurdeep Singh (26). The accused told the officers that they had brought the smack from an inspector of UP Police who was supposed to tell them to whom it was to be delivered in Rudrapur but the ANTF arrested them, said the STF senior superintendent of police Ayush Agrawal. He said that the said gang members were on the radar of ANTF for the past one week. The authorities received information about the arrival of three men with smack on Monday after which, the ANTF made a plan and arrested them late at night right before they were waiting to deliver the smack. He said that the STF is investigating the accused and will act against other culprits involved in the matter. He said that the STF will also start the process of acting against the police inspector who is allegedly involved with the arrested accused.
