Amid the ongoing investigation into the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) graduate level recruitment exam leak case, the Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has arrested two accused from Haridwar in connection with the alleged rigging in the online forest guard recruitment exam held in September last year.
The senior superintendent of police (SSP) of STF, Ajai Singh said that the STF registered a case in the cyber police station on Sunday against the alleged irregularities found in the online forest guard recruitment exam after initial investigations confirmed the cheating in the exam. He said that so far the STF has identified four such aspirants who have been found to be allegedly involved in adopting unfair means to clear the forest guard recruitment exam.
On the basis of the preliminary investigation and evidence gathered so far, two accused named Ravindra Singh (27) from Laksar and Prashant Kumar (28) from Khanpur in Haridwar district have also been arrested by the STF, stated Singh. He said that these men are just the mediators who allegedly took four to five lakh rupees from each aspirant to clear their online exam. “Our main targets are those for whom they were working. We have recovered substantial evidence in our investigation and are working to find out the main accused. We are also investigating the involvement of the examination conducting agency NSEIT in the cheating in the exam.
We have also identified some private institutions where the examinations were conducted and are investigating them too,” said the SSP. Apart from this, Singh also said that STF has also requested the police head quarter (PHQ) to increase the bounty amount on the main accused of UKSSSC graduate level recruitment exam leak case Syed Sadiq Moosa and his accomplice Yogeshwar Rao from Rs 25,000 each to higher amount to nab them soon.
