The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttarakhand will appeal in the Uttarakhand High Court to cancel the bail granted to the accused involved in the recruitment scam of Village Panchayat Development Officer (VPDO) conducted by Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) in 2016.

The main accused of the UKSSSC recruitment exam leak case Hakam Singh and Sanjeev Chauhan were recently granted bail by court despite STF’s claims of having strong evidence against them. The additional director general of police (Law and Order), V Murugesan said that despite the effective lobbying of the prosecution, the bail to accused Hakam Singh and Sanjeev Chauhan was approved by the additional district and sessions court (Anti Corruption) Dehradun on January 30.

He said that in order to ensure all accused involved in this recruitment scam case are brought to justice as per the directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the STF will appeal in the High Court against the bail granted to the accused. He said that as part of the procedure, the STF will file an appeal in the HC soon after getting the order from the lower court besides getting the required approval from the district magistrate and the State administration. He said that the STF has already started the process of confiscating the assets of culprits worth crores of rupees acquired illegally and is taking all possible measures to ensure they get punished for their crimes.
