Strict action taken in Badrinath offering theft: BKTC chief

 The Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) chairman Hemant Dwivedi has said that the stringent action has been taken in the case of theft of offerings at Badrinath Dham. In a statement on Thursday, Dwivedi welcomed the decision of the State government to constitute a high level committee headed by Garhwal Commissioner in the case.

The BKTC chairman said as soon as the allegations of irregularties in the counting room of the donations and offerings was made, he directed the chief executive officer to ensure that everything in the room including the records and CCTV footages are safeguarded. He said that a committee of senior officers of the BKTC was constituted to investigate the case. Dwivedi said that when the committee found some discrepancies prima-facie, the employee concerned was immediately suspended and a FIR against him was also registered on late Wednesday night.

 He said that the State government under the leadership of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has adopted a zero tolerance in the cases of corruption and the constitution of a high level investigation committee under the Garhwal commissioner to prove the case proves this commitment of CM. He said the high level investigation committee will soon submit its report and the culprits will be exposed.
