Students sat on strike in MBPG college in Haldwani on Saturday. The strike was a reaction by the students belonging to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) against the police who lathi-charged on them on Friday as the latter created ruckus demanding the admission to the applicants who were denied admission in the first year of college. The angry students reportedly stopped the admission process in the college and carried out the commotion for up to eight hours during which they broke out tumult outside the principal’s office and were chased away by the police with sticks. According to the sources, the students will not silence their voice till their demands are met.
