Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the objective of the State government is to bring governance and administration closer to the public. He said that it is his belief that the government should reach to the doorsteps of the common people.
The CM was addressing a camp organised under the ‘ Jan Jan Ki Sarkar Jan Jan Ke Dwar’ programme at Sahaspur on Saturday. The programme is being organised in all parts of the State under Sewa Pakhwada to mark completion of five years of CM Dhami in office.
He said that in a democracy, the people are supreme and the true meaning of good governance is sensitive, accountable and people-centric administration. He said that the ‘ Jan Jan Ki Sarkar Jan Jan Ke Dwar’ campaign has strengthened trust between the government and the public and has proven to be an effective means of ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person on the social ladder.
Dhami said that in the first phase of the campaign, approximately 700 public service camps were organized across the state over 65 days, in which more than five lakh people participated.
He said that in camps being organized across the State as part of the Sewa Pakhwada which began on July 4, more than 64,000 citizens have participated. Dhami claimed that in sync with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, Uttarakhand has made significant progress in every sector, including roads, health, education, drinking water, tourism, industry, investment and air connectivity.
Dhami said that for the first time, events such as the G-20 meetings, the National Games and the Global Investors Summit were successfully organized.
