Jayshree Pande, a native of Ranikhet in Almora district has been selected under the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for higher education. The PM Narendra Modi also congratulated her in a letter.
Jayshree did her schooling till class XII from Army Public School (APS) in Ranikhet. After completing her studies in Biotechnology from Jaipur (Rajasthan), she is currently a second year student of BSc (Agriculture) in GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology in Pantnagar. She was awarded the scholarship for securing the highest marks in the first year. Jayshree’s father BM Pande, who is proficient in Kathak dance, is a senior inspector in BSF and mother Prabha Pande is a housewife. Jayshree has credited her family and teachers for her success. Elated on being selected and receiving a congratulatory message from the PM, she said that this has instilled new confidence in her. Now by working harder, she will be ready to serve the country. Under the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme, an amount ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 is provided to the talented students. This scheme is only for the students pursuing education in recognised institutions in India.
