In a relief to students who have failed to get admissions in the institutes of higher education, the Uttarakhand government has given them a chance to submit offline application forms in the government colleges and the institutes affiliated to the three government universities of the State.
A decision in this regard was taken by the Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat in a meeting of the officers of higher education department on Friday. The minister said that he got information that hundreds of students could not register themselves in the Samarth portal and were deprived from admissions.
He said that the students can now submit offline application forms in the nearest government colleges, university campus colleges and the private institutes affiliated with government universities. These offline applications would be subjected to availability of seats in these colleges. Rawat said that it would be the responsibility of the colleges concerned to register the information provided by the students in the Samarth portal.
