The Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that students will receive financial assistance while studying after the implemenation of the ‘CM-Leap  Earn While You Learn’ scheme.

Rawat emphasised the State government’s commitment to introducing significant changes in higher education to offer students in the state both advanced education and practical experience, along with earning opportunities within educational institutions. He highlighted that the government has approved the CM Leap Earn While You Learn’ scheme to be enforced in state higher educational institutions and a government order for its execution will be released soon. Under this scheme, eligible undergraduate, postgraduate and research level students across all state universities, government colleges and other higher educational institutions in the state will engage in various tasks within the institute. These tasks primarily involve supporting library operations, equipment operations in laboratories, maintenance and support during practical sessions, as well as office administrative tasks. Candidates for this initiative will be chosen based on their academic performance. Students participating in the programme will receive a maximum monthly stipend of Rs 6,000, calculated at a rate of one hundred rupees per hour, he said. Rawat added that the higher Education department will periodically evaluate the impact of the scheme on the participating students, gathering feedback from both the students and the hosting institutions.

Commenting about the eligibility for the scheme, Rawat said that individuals considered for the CM Leap Earn While You Learn scheme must be students or researchers in their second year of graduation (third/fourth semester) up to the postgraduate level. Participants will be chosen based on their cumulative academic performance. To be considered, interested individuals must be enrolled as full-time regular students at the specified institution, he said.
