Three college students sustained serious injuries after their car fell into a 500 metre gorge on Dhanaulti Road on Friday morning. The police said that the students named Karan Negi, a Rishikesh resident and Saharanpur residents Aryan Malik and Yash Yadav were on their way to Dhanaulti to enjoy snowfall on Friday morning. The police said that the student driving the car lost control on Dhanaulti Road due to which it fell into a deep gorge. The Mussoorie police arrived at the accident scene to rescue the victims amid the snowfall. The police said that snowfall made the rescue operation difficult but all injured were rescued from the gorge in time. Two students sustained injuries and were sent to hospital for treatment while a student was referred to a higher centre due to his serious injuries, said the police. The police said that families of victims were informed soon after the accident. The police have also appealed to the public to drive cautiously during heavy rain and snowfall, especially in mountainous areas to avoid any accidents.
