Students to take save the girl child pledge on I-Day

To improve the child sex ratio and develop a positive attitude towards daughters in the society, ‘Save the Girl Child Pledge’ will be administered in all the educational institutions of the district on August 15. According to the officials, district magistrate, Ashish Chauhan, has issued necessary guidelines to the chief education officer in this regard. In accordance with these instructions, all degree colleges, schools and other educational institutions in the district will ensure that pledges are made to protect female foetuses on August 15.
Through this pledge, students and teachers will be made to raise their voice against social evils like gender discrimination, female foeticide, to provide daughters with equal love, nutrition, security and opportunities for progress as sons and to always strive for the education, health and self-reliance of daughters, the officials said.
The officials also informed that it will also be resolved in the pledge that such an environment should be created at home, in society and surroundings, where every daughter feels safe and can live her life with dignity and respect.
The district administration has appealed to all educational institutions to ensure active participation in this campaign and make the maximum number of students, teachers and staff aware of the protection of girl children.
