Students urged to take up biotechnology education & research

Under the skill development and awareness programme, a group of 68 students and teachers of PM Shri Atal Utkrisht Government Inter College, Khatima, Udham Singh Nagar visited the GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar and Uttarakhand Council of Biotechnology, Haldi. They visited the modern laboratories at these two institutions.
Under the guidance of the UCB’s director Sanjay Kumar, the students were informed about the possibilities of education and research in biotechnology. The coordinator Manindra Mohan took the students on a tour of the modern laboratories and made them aware of the ongoing research work. Further, he informed the students about the training programme being held in the council for skill development and told that by receiving biotechnology based training, students could become skilled in future. Moreover, Mohan made the students aware of the modern technology used in water and soil testing.
