In latest news from Kumaun University, the students who had performed well in various sports events were felicitated at a meeting of the Sports department held at the teachers’ training centre. While chairing the meeting, the vice- chancellor Diwan Singh Rawat said that his university is committed to providing every possible facility to the students inclined to sports. “Sports is important because it not just keeps the students physically agile but develops discipline, team spirit and leadership qualities in them,” he said, adding that he had approved inclusion of several new sports in the university.
Notably, DSB campus student Vaishali Pandey and Rudrapur campus student Yogesh Pandey were awarded the Vice-Chancellor Gold Medal while the Vice- Chancellor Trophy was awarded to the institutions which had performed well in various competitions in which the first place was secured by MBPG College Haldwani, second place by SBS College Rudrapur and third place by DSB campus Nainital.
