Summer vacations to start from June 1 in govt schools

The summer vacations in the government schools of Uttarakhand would be from June 1 to July 5 this year. The vacations were earlier slated from May 27. The department which employs the biggest number of government employees in the state has postponed the summer vacations in the schools to celebrate the World No Tobacco day on May 31. In an order directed to director Secondary education, director Primary education and other officers of the department the Director General (DG) of Education, Banshi Dhar Tiwari said that following the decision taken in the review meeting of the department chaired by education minister on May 12, that a pledge on the World No Tobacco day has to be taken by all the students of classes VI to XII and teachers on World No Tobacco day ( May 31), the summer vacations in the schools of the state would be from June 1 to July 5 .
