Sunil Kumar Lakhera was elected as the new president of the Uttarakhand secretariat association. In the elections for the association held on Monday, Lakhera defeated his nearest rival and the incumbent president of the association Deepak Joshi by a margin of 40 votes.
The election results have brought an end to the winning streak of Deepak Joshi who was seeking re-election for a record fourth term on the post of president. In the election Lakhera secured 479 votes against 439 received by Joshi. Pradeep Papne was distant third as he got 65 votes.
For the post of general secretary Rakesh Joshi defeated Vimal Joshi by a margin of 26 votes. In the election R S Bartwal was elected as treasurer while Lalmani Joshi was elected to the post of auditor.
